Viswema YO retains Dzükou Cup U-19 championship title

Kohima, Oct. 15 (EMN): Viswema Youth Organisation (VYO) retained their championship title after defeating Khuzama Youth Organisation 5-0 in the final of the second edition of Southern Angami Sports Association (Sasa) Dzükou Cup U-19 Football League.

Defending their title, VYO blanked KYO with a brace from Puzoto Vitsu, while a goal each from Keduhosa Sothu, Avi Chaya and Vilone Kikhi during the final match played on Friday at Jakhama local ground.

Jakhama Youth Organisation (JYO) and Mima Youth Organisation (MYO) were the two semi-finalists.

In the individual category, Puzoto Vitsu from VYO was declared the highest scorer, while best goalkeeper title went to Mecievito Khatso of JYO.

Vilone Kikhi of VYO was declared the player of the tournament, while Sashevi Khanyo, who is also from VYO, was given away the youngest player award.

Secho Sale, assistant mechanical engineer of Social and Water Conservation, speaking before the final match as the guest, reminded the players to be dedicated and imbibe in the sportsmanship spirit in every game they play and asked them to put God first. The two-day league organised by Southern Angami Sports Association (SASA) commenced on October 14 at Jakhama local ground and St. Joseph’s College ground at Jakhama village, about 17 km away from the state capital.

The opening game was graced by Kezhaletuo Meze Angami, senior audit officer from the office of PR Accountant General (Audit), as the inaugural guest. The competition began with an invocation by Dr. Fr. George Keduolhou Dzeyie and presidential address from Rokovizo Meze.

Kelekhol Naleo administered the oath to the participating teams from the Southern Angami region ahead of the matches.
