Virtual singing competition for girl bands, choirs in Phek district of Nagaland

Dimapur, June 8 (EMN): To support and promote girls’ participation in music amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the Phek district administration and the district-level centre for women (DLCW) in collaboration with Task Force for Music And Arts (TaFMA), has officially announced the second edition of the Virtual Singing Competition with the theme “Your Voice Your Strength”.

The government of Nagaland announced the virtual singing competition on its official Twitter account (MyGov Nagaland) on Monday afternoon.

According to the update, the participating teams will share a common song titled “A Million Dreams” from the movie “The Greatest Showman” and the soundtrack be downloaded on YouTube channel District level centre for Women MSK Phek Nagaland. It added that ‘no other instruments shall be entertained.’

Each participating teams should not exceed 10 members and for a duration of five minutes; video document should not exceed 100 mb; video can be sent via WhatsApp to 9856189315 or email to; last date of submission is June 28, 2020; and the results will be announced on June 30.

The notification also informed that cash money will be given to three winners and to three consolation prize winners.
