Viral exposure: DC Mokokchung lodges FIR

Mokokchung, Oct. 15 (EMN):
Mokokchung Deputy Commissioner Limawabang Jamir has lodged a complaint against exposing identities of AKM officials and others, who were tested positive for Covid-19 on October 14.

Jamir, in his FIR submitted to the superintendent of police of Mokokchung, stated that some unscrupulous elements have exposed highly confidential official document containing names, bio data and other personal details of AKM officer bearers being tested positive for Covid-19 and identities of persons listed in contact tracing. The complaint stated that it was a violation of the order issued by him dated July 1, 2020.

The DC also lodged complained against those individuals, who have circulated fake Covid-19 news and rumours in social media relating to Import Clinic, Mokokchung, which appeared on various social media platforms on October 13 and the 14th.

The miscreants also circulated details of 18 police personnel who were detected with Covid-19 on social media platforms, it added.

In the FIR, the deputy commissioner of Mokokchung has requested the superintendent of police, Mokokchung, to investigate the matter and initiate appropriate action against the culprits as per the relevant section of the law.
