Pangnyu inaugurates
Advisor DUDA & NEPED S Pangnyu Phom with administrative officers, village leaders and host of dignitaries at the inaugural function of Monkhong village in Longleng on Tuesday, November 7.

Dimapur, Nov. 8 (EMN): Violence has no place in the fast changing world, said the Advisor DUDA & NEPED S Pangnyu Phom, while asserting that the strength of a community lies on unity of its people.
Let’s shun all forms of past differences prevailing among the community, join hands and reconcile to build a vibrant community, said Pangnyu.
Addressing a massive gathering of village functionaries at the inaugural function of the newly recognised village; Mongkhong village on Nov. 7, Pangnyu maintained that the village needs to be nurtured properly to meet the basic amenities and to progress. To this he also called on the government officers to cater the requirements of the village, the DPRO Longleng report stated.
Pangnyu advised the people of the village to build cordial relation with Government officials. He also reminded that the elected government alone cannot fulfil the demands of the people without the assistance from government officers.
Lauding Bhumnyu village for donating their land for development of the district, including the lone Yingli College Pangnyu, he urged the gathering to emulate good deeds of Bhumnyu.
He encouraged the newly inaugurated village to maintain their old cultural and traditional values of respecting their parental village, and maintain peace and tranquillity with their neighbours.
Appealing people’s support to his leadership, he apprised of the recognition of six new villages that were recognized in the district, attributing the same to the support of the people, the report stated.
Speaking on behalf of the district administration SDO (Civil) Longleng, D Robin, congratulated the village leaders for establishment of the new village. He assured that the district administration would provide all possible assistance for development of the village. He also urged the developmental departments to assist the village for infrastructure development, which is essential for other developments to take place.
Former minister, N MetpongPhom; president PPC, P Chingan Phom; head GB Bhumnyu, N Nampei; and VCC Dungkhao, Y Mulim Phom also delivered short speeches.
Chairman AMVC, C Asum Phom delivered welcome address, VCC Bhumnyu E Ongba Phom conveyed greetings, Pastor DBC invoked God’s blessing, YB Angam Phom proposed vote of thanks and Women Pastor BBC Chumla pronounced benediction.
Special songs were presented by Bhumnyu CYE and Mongkhong youth while cultural dance was performed by Yongpheng Morung Bhumnyu and Choichemla Dungkhao village.
Representatives from various Phom villages and neighbouring villages of Konyaks attended the programme.
