Village headman killed by miscreants in West Karbi Anglong

DIPHU — In a tragic incident, a village headman of Thepli Aram, Rostom Tisso, aged 65, under Jengkha Police Outpost in West Karbi Anglong, was killed by unidentified miscreants on Saturday night.

According to the victim’s elder son, Mongol Tisso, his father had attended an election meeting organised by the Autonomous State Demand Committee (ASDC) in the village on the evening of April 20.

The meeting concluded around 7 pm. After the meeting, Tisso, along with another village headman named Mohon Bey, walked together before dispersing for their respective homes.

Mongol stated that someone had informed him that his father was found lying dead by the roadside. The deceased’s body was later transported to Diphu Medical College and Hospital.
