Dimapur, Oct. 11 (EMN): Chairman of Pughoboto Sub-division Planning and Development Board (SDPDB), Y Vikheho Swu has advised the village authorities to check influx of illegal immigrants so as to avoid problems in the future and recommended maintaining a register for newcomers who take shelter in the villages and renew their names every year.
Vikheho Swu stated this while addressing the members during the monthly meeting of Pughoboto SDPDB at Ghathashi community hall on October 10. He cited example of Mokokchung district where labourers and shopkeepers were mostly the local people.
He further said that the clean village award, village council award, highest paddy award etc. are meant for taking Pughoboto forward with proper utilisation of the fund and also encouraging the farmers to yield sufficient organic agriculture and allied production.
ADC, T Moa Lemtor, and Tiayanger stressed on the verification of the voters which is currently underway and asked the voters to verify their names from their respective BLOs with one identity card within the 45 days as directed by ECI. The unverified voters would be declared bogus, an update from the DIPR stated on Friday.
SDAO Pughoboto, Myanthung Patton, highlighted on the winter crops cultivation, while the Junior Engineer (Power) Ghathashi also apprised on the need for improvement of power supply and facilities like field staff room, collection revenue room.
The board also discussed on inter-school sports meet in Pughoboto. DWO Zunheboto, Atula Kikon, and SDO PHE, Pughoboto, made power point presentations on the departmental activities. The members and participants in the meeting also visited Ghathashi community garden.
