KIPHIRE — Vilila Jinglaru, a 5th semester student of Political Science, has been elected as the first female general secretary of Zisaji Presidency College Students’ Union (ZPCSU), Kiphire, for the tenure 2025-26. The ZPCSU election was held on August 9.
Addressing the students, the college’s principal, Dr. Phyobenthung, encouraged all the candidates to follow the JM Lyngdoh Commission’s rules for student elections and to uphold democratic values.
The election was monitored by Rozy T Sangtam, SDO (C) of Kiphire, and her team, ensuring a fair process from voting to results. Police were also present to maintain order during the election.

Out of the eight executive posts, four were won by women, showing increasing female participation in student politics.
Rozy Sangtam has congratulated to all the winners.
Meanwhile, the college has thanked the SDO (C), Superintendent of Police, Kiphire, and others for their assistance to conduct the election in smooth and fair manner.
Vilila Jinglaru’s victory is seen as a big step for women’s leadership in the college.
