Dimapur, May 20 (EMN): State minister of Road & Bridge, Y Vikheho Swu, inaugurated two new school buildings of GPS Akhumi School, Natsumi, and GPS Heboluqa, Pughoboto, on May 20.
Speaking at the inauguration of GPS Natsumi building, the minister urged the people to nurture their children in the education field to enable them excel in life. He advised the people to endeavour for progress in socio- economic development such as self-sufficiency in meat production etc.
Swu encouraged the people to evolve strategy to market ‘Pughoboto products’ and reach out to others outside the State as well. The minister, who was also the NBA president, said that ongoing infrastructural developments like construction of mini- stadium in their area is to bring up the youngsters in the field of sports. Mentioning that Pughoboto is the centre to connect other districts, Vikheho Swu said he giving efforts to link Pughoboto to Pangsha.
The minister and others officials also planted tree saplings in the surroundings of the school building, Natsumi.
SDEO Pughoboto, Vikuto Sema, and others lauded the minister for his various initiatives. ADC Avelu, EAC Selemla, teachers, DBs, GBs, students and others attended both the programmes.
In Natsumi, the school was dedicated by Associate Pastor, Hotokhu. The programme was chaired by teacher Kiyelho, while the vote of thanks was proposed by VEC Natsumi chairman, Achumi Inatha Achumi.
Besides, the new school building of GPS Heboluqa khel in Pughoboto, constructed under SSA, was also unveiled and inaugurated by the minister.
ADC Avelu, speaking on the occasion, emphasised on the need to impart quality education and called upon the teachers and parents to give joint efforts.
