Vijay Merchant Trophy: Nagaland’s Singh, Yash score century apiece

Dimapur, Oct. 23 (EMN): After scoring a double century for Nagaland in the previous match against Manipur, Yugandhar Singh has once again hit a ton on Wednesday in the Vijay Merchant Boys U-16 Trophy against Mizoram. Joining the party, teammate Yash also scored a century on day one of the three-day Test match.

An update by joint secretary of Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) A Rahman informed that Nagaland elected to bat first after winning the toss and made 349 runs for loss of five wickets in 95 overs in the first innings.

Singh, who scored 241 runs in the previous match, scored 103 runs, while Yash scored 100 runs and Savlin – 61 to help the state put up a good total.

Swapnani took two wickets for Mizoram while Vanrotlinga, Prem and Nipun took a wicket each.

Nagaland have won consecutive matches in the tournament after defeating Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur.
