‘Vigyan saravatra pujiyaye’ festival underway in Kohima

Dimapur, Feb. 23 (EMN): As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a week-long Vigyan Saravatra Pujyate got underway at the premises of the Science and Technology department in Kohima on Tuesday.

The week-long pan India programme is being organised by the department of the Principal Scientific Advisor (PSA), under the ministry of culture, government of India, in association with Viggvan, to showcase on science, technology and innovation. The festival is being held in every part of the country from February 22 to the 28th, stated a DIPR report.

The event is being jointly organised by DST, DOS, ICMR AICTE, and DRDO at 75 locations with New Delhi as the centre through which 75 lectures, 75 films, 75 radio talks, 75 science literary activities, 75 books, 75 posters, 75 awards would be conducted.

Speaking at the inaugural function, the commissioner and secretary of Science and Technology, OT Chimak, stated that the main aspiration was to inspire the youth and help them navigate and build India to be a progressive nation and also to reinforce the commitment for the scientific community towards economic and social development.

He added that the aspiration of the festival was to highlight the development across the country.

The four main themes of the week-long celebration are ‘Annals of science,’ ‘Milestone of modern science and technology,’ ‘Swadeshi paramparik invention and invocation,’ and ‘Transforming India.’

Report further stated that a total of 16 schools from all over Kohima are attending the week-long festival.
