Vigilance Awareness Week observed throughout NF Railway

Dimapur, Nov. 5 (EMN): Vigilance Awareness Week 2020 was observed throughout Northeast Frontier Railway from October 27 to November 2. The theme for this year was “Vigilant India, Prosperous India”.

Various programmes were organised throughout the week. The week commenced with a pledge taking ceremony on October 27 at NF Railway, HQ, Maligaon, NF Railway HQ (Construction), Maligaon and at various offices of divisions and construction units, a press statement from NFR informed. At zonal head quarter, the pledge was administered by Sanjive Roy, general manager, NFR and in the divisions by respective divisional railway managers. An e-vigilance bulletin was also released digitally on this occasion by GM, NFR and many activities were organised online by observing the Covid-19 protocols, it informed.

“As part of the programme a ‘Sangosthi’ was held at zonal HQ on October 29 on the theme ‘Vigilant India, Prosperous India’ and controlling corruption through ‘Paradigm shift’ and ‘Attitudinal change’. All principal head of departments, divisional railway managers, branch officers of divisions and construction unit participated in the seminar through webinar.

“An interactive session through webinar was also organised on October 27 with principals and staff of 40 Kendriya Vidyalayas of this region (i.e. Assam – 7 KVs, Nagaland – 6 KVs, Manipur – 9 KVs, and Arunachal Pradesh – 18 KVs) in the presence of B Lakra, chief vigilance officer, NFR as the chief guest, which was coordinated by Kendriya Vidyalaya, Tinsukia region.

“In order to create awareness amongst the masses regarding ill effects of corruption, various messages were posted on the official Facebook and Twitter handles of NF Railway. Digital posters and quotes were also displayed in different railway stations. SMSs in Hindi and English were also circulated among Railway employees from October 27 to November 2 to create awareness.

“Essay and drawing competition were also organised on the topic ‘Vigilant India, Prosperous India’ among the trainees in supervisors training centre, New Bongaigaon and zonal training centre, Alipurduar Junction and also among the students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Maligaon and Railway Higher Secondary School, Maligaon to create awareness about ill effects of corruption,” it read.
