Dimapur, Nov. 4 (EMN): The ICAR-NRC on Mithun observed Vigilance Awareness Week 2019 on the theme “Integrity- A Way of Life” at its institute. Celebrated under the vigilance cell of the institute, the weeklong event concluded on November 2.
An update from ICAR-NRC on Mithun informed that the celebration was part of the Central Vigilance Commission’s initiative to promote the theme of public participation in promoting integrity and eradicating corruption by inviting schools, colleges, public and private organisations to participate in various competitions such as essay writing, extempore speech and painting etc.
As part of the celebration, the institute organised a number of competitions viz. essay writing, extempore speech and painting for the school students from in and around the institute at Medziphema. The participating school students were all categorised as one group and the staff of the institute as a separate group.
The topic for all competitions was focussed on the theme of the vigilance week. The topic for the essay competition was “Role of Integrity in preventing corruption”. For the painting competition students and staff were asked to draw anything on corruption, how it can be prevented and its root cause, informed the update.
A large number of school students and the staff of the institute participated in the wee long programme. Prizes to the winners were distributed at the valedictory programme held on November 2.
The programme ended with taking of integrity pledge by all the school children and staff present at the valedictory function.
78th Battalion of CRPF in Zubza
In order to promote integrity, transparency and accountability, the 78th Battalion of CRPF in Zubza observed a vigilance awareness week "in pursuit of the vision of the government of India to make a new India by the year 2022".
In a press statement, it was informed that the awareness week on the theme “Eradicate Corruption-Build a New India” was held from October 28 to November 2 in the battalion campus at Zubza headquarters in Kohima and at its company location deployed in Nagaland.
The vigilance awareness week included a pledge taken by all the personnel at the battalion, and the display of banners "inscribed with slogans and posters on the anti-corruption at prime locations of the campus.” Anil Kumar Jha, Commandant (A.O.L.) addressed the gathering on the theme of the awareness week besides several activities such as workshops, sensitisation programmes, debate competition on anti-corruption topics were also organised.
