Dimapur, Jan. 17: 3 (NH) Bn Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters IGAR (North) alongwith 14 Mobile Field Veterinary Hospital, organised organised a veterinary aid camp at Viswema village, on January 10, under Operation Sadbhavana.
During the camp, veterinary doctors gave tips on how to care for domestic animals and advised about winter care management of the livestock. The community was also advised on caring and breeding of domestic animals and to take up animal husbandry activities to augment their income.
A total of 861 livestocks were treated and fee veterinary medicines, vaccines and tonics were distributed.
A similar programme was conducted by 28 Assam Rifles under aegis of HQ IGAR (N) at Lakhuti village, Sanis Sub Division of Wokha district on January 15, under Operation Sadbhavana.
During the camp, a team of Assam Rifles veterinary doctor and nursing staff examined the livestock and provided necessary and free medicines to the villagers.
While appreciating the efforts of Assam Rifles, the village administration also requested for similar assistance in future and assured their full support for such commendable work.
