Vehicular movement along Chantongya-Longleng road in Nagaland restricted

DIMAPUR — In view of the landslides and rockfalls near the Dikhu Bridge along the Chantongya-Longleng road, movement of all vehicles, including light motor vehicles (LMVs) has been restricted along the stretch from September 15 onwards between 7 am and 6 pm, until further notice.

Travellers have been “strongly” advised to avoid the route during the restriction timing and take the alternative route -- Longleng-Chingtok (IR Camp)-Merangkong-Netnyu.

An update from DIPR stated that the measure was taken for safety of the travellers and to prevent any potential accidents or delays due to the precarious conditions of the Chantongya-Longleng road.
