Dimapur, Oct. 19 (EMN):
Advisor for Industries and Commerce, Labour and Employment Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Imnatiba Jamir on Tuesday said that Nagaland has the potential to grow like any other state but various problems have closed its doors to generate revenue for the state.

He said that each state depended on one another and added that what is available in Nagaland was not available in other states.

He was speaking at a ceremony organised by Muru Infra Developers to provide certification to 30 labourers for ‘Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) type 4’ project in collaboration with the Department of Labour at Hotel Saramati.

Jamir added that RPL gives recognition and brings everyone on one level, thereby creating more opportunities for skilled labourers. He also added that the building and construction sector has lots of scope and opportunities in Nagaland.

The advisor encouraged the gathering to avail various benefits and services rendered by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Nagaland Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (NBOCWWB).

Speaking on the occasion, director of Muru Infra Developers, Vikali A Zhimomi said that the firm deals with the construction of flexible pavements, buildings and other logistical machines.

Zhimomi added that the firm has ventured into this field since 2019 and has been able to successfully recognise skilled workers in and around Dimapur, and also helping the labours to avail benefits and service rendered by the NSDC and NBOCWWB.

The director added that Muru Infra Developers is the only firm in Nagaland that has been recognised by the NSDC and Construction Skill Development Council of India (CSDCI) to undertake the RPL project.

At the event, project officer of Department of Labour, A Chubayanger said that they were able to achieve the set target in assisting 1500 labourers in and around Dimapur and also appreciated Muru Infra Developers for their work.

Chubayanger also explained about the benefits labourers can avail from various schemes of the government and added that if a labourer has a certificate of RPL type 4, it becomes ‘hassle-free’ for registration in the Labour department.
