Various artistes enthrall music lovers on World Music Day
KOHIMA — The 9th edition of World Music Day organised by Musicians Guild was held at The Heritage in Kohima on Friday.
A host of solo artistes including rapper Atiro, singers Akhrieze and Kivito, instrumental guitarists Zayie and Senti captivated the old and young music lovers who gathered to celebrate World Music Day at the state capital.
The event also featured performances by three bands from Nagaland –Version 2, Paper Sky, and The Gluttons — and Rain In Sahara from Guwahati, who enthralled the audience.
Despite the high anticipation, the entertainment gig was delayed for over an hour, which led to complaints from a few fans, who had purchased tickets to witness the concert.
Pastor Visato Yhoshü from Union Baptist Church led the crowd in a prayer, thanking God for the gift of music and the opportunity to celebrate World Music Day. The pastor also prayed for Edward Ngullie, the manager of ‘About Us,’ a famed band of Nagaland, who is battling cancer, while extending prayers for other musicians facing various challenges.
At the event, Subham, also known as Crazy Skull from Guwahati, emerged as the winner of the one-on-one dance battle.
