Vanguard FC- Tseminyu organises indigenous games competition

Dimapur, Nov. 30 (EMN): Vanguard FC Tseminyu on Wednesday organised an indigenous games competition as part of the Ngada Mini-Hornbill Festival celebrations in collaboration with the organising committee, Ngada Mini-Hornbill Festival 2018. Two-times champions of Lt. Capt. Kenguruse MVC Memorial Football Trophy in 2017 and 2018, Vanguard FC, Tseminyu, organised  the competition in an effort to revive and promote indigenous games and sports in the region and beyond. The competition was held right after the formal session on the second day of the Ngada Mini-Hornbill Festival celebrations. All the seven ranges of the Rengma land competed in the competition with much excitement and competitive spirit. Some of the indigenous games played were bamboo pole climbing, spear/high kick and bamboo stilt walking race. The winners were awarded cash prizes and certificates by the organisers.
