Vadeo wins Secheku wrestling championship

Venuzo Vadeo lifted the 27th Secheku wrestling meet held at Tsiipfume village in Phek district on January 13.

This is the second time Vadeo of Porba village has lifted Secheku wrestling championship title. He received INR 80,000 for winning the competition.

Boduve D Vadeo of Sakraba village, who won second position, walked away with a cash prize of INR 50,000, while third prize winner Niekhozo Keroh of Gidemi village received INR 40,000 and Kukuo Getsa of Pholami village, who stood in the fourth position, got INR 30,000.

In under-16 category, Kuvenu Puro won the title, for which he was awarded INR 15,000. Vesaku Vadeo received INR 10,000 for winning the second prize, while Shetsu Therie (third position) and Eneiku Naro (fourth position) walked away with a cash prize of INR 7,000 and INR 5,000 respectively.

BJP Nagaland spokesperson Zaveyi Kezo attended the tournament as special guest, while the Secheku Wrestling Association (SWA) president Vezohu Riiho delivered welcome address earlier during the programme. SWA technical secretary Tewetso Tsuha administered oath to the wrestlers.
