Healthcare administers Covid vaccine to a beneficiary at Kitsubozou panchayat hall in Kohima, on June 11.

Kohima, June 13 (EMN): The healthcare workers and staff nurses of Kitsubozou sub-centre under Urban Primary Health Centre, Seikhazou, conducted a massive Covid-19 vaccination drive for the residents of Ward No. 5 at Kitsubozou panchayat hall, Kohima, on June 11.

The panchayat chairman, Vimhalie PienyĆ¼, informed that a total of 183 eligible persons were inoculated with the first dose of Covishield. It included 174 persons in the 18 and above age group and nine senior citizens with a 90-year- old man being the oldest beneficiary.

Kitsubozou panchayat along with women, youth and Angandi workers assisted in the conduct of the vaccination drive by maintaining laid down standard operating procedures, while the 1st Assam Rifles provided waiting shed for the beneficiaries.

In a similar programme, a medical team from Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), Duncan Basti, conducted a free Covid-19 vaccination drive at Notun Bosti council hall and government primary school on June 11. The medical team was led by the medical officer Dr. Rose with her five nurses/ staff and assisted by Asha of ward No. 21, Notun Bosti Colony Anganwadi workers/ helpers, khel chairmen, GBs, members of youth forum and Notun Bosti Council Dimapur (NBCD). An update from the council stated that a total of 225 persons were vaccinated during the drive.
