Üzomia Ü, a concert of local composers organised by Naga Folks Promo Society was held at Ura Academy in Kohima on Oct. 26, Saturday.

Prof D Kuolie, Secretary General, Ura Academy graced the occasion as chief guest and expressed happiness towards the programme for providing platform to the local talents.

The legendary Naga musician Methaneilie (Jütakhrie) who was the guest of honour said, “music is the best medicine for soothing souls.”

He maintained that music lifts the soul that takes a persons’ mind to go beyond the real world, to forget pains, shares joy and happiness.

Recalling his experiences as a composer, he mentioned that in solitaire thoughts music and words are born. He expressed happiness that the music industry in the state is also picking up with the rest of the world and urged the musicians to do their originals.

Various local artists and musicians who shared the stage with their originals were Vikuyole Tase, Ato Nienu, Coloured Keys, Avi Rutsa, Table-3, Visietuo Chüpuo, Kekhrienuo Rame and Seluovinuo rame, Atso Chasie &The Groiots, Zekuosa Zhale, Khriezoltuolie Chase and Gugu Sekhose.
