USSU demands blacktopping of road leading to ZPC College
DIMAPUR — The United Sangtam Student’s Conference (USSU) demanded an urgent blacktopping of the road leading to ZPC College, Kiphire Hq., citing that the matter is affecting the students of the college and that ‘immediate intervention in this critical issue is indispensable’.
In a letter to the Advisor of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, the union stated that the current state of the access road leading to ZPC College is subpar, posing significant challenges for students who commute daily to pursue their education.
“The deteriorating condition of the road poses a threat to the safety and well-being of the students who travel daily to attend their college,” it read, adding that the concerned departments prioritise the blacktopping at the earliest possible time.
Furthermore, it stated that blacktopping the road will improve student safety by ensuring a safe and reliable commute to and from college, and that improved road conditions will allow students to have uninterrupted access to education, promoting academic excellence and overall development.
“We understand the pressing demands on government resources, but we believe that prioritising the blacktopping of this crucial road is an investment in the future of our student community,” it said.
