- DIMAPUR — As directed by the Eastern Nagaland
People’s Organisation, the United Sangtam Likhum Pumji (USLP) has decided to
organise a mass public rally on April 28 in Kiphire and Seyochung to protest
the Indo-Myanmar border fencing and advocate for a Free Movement Regime (FMR)
across Naga lands.
- A press release on Saturday informed that this decision was
taken during a consultative meeting held with USSC and AST at Kiphire on April
25.

- Exemptions have been made for the district administration,
police, paramilitary forces, fire & emergency services, and medical
emergencies.
- The USLP stated that volunteers will be deployed throughout
the town to ensure the rally remains peaceful. Strict action will be taken
against any individuals who violate the directives, it warned.
- Meanwhile, all educational institutions and businesses at
Longkhim sub-division in Kiphire are slated to close on April 28 in support of
the proposed mass public rally.
- The USLP formally notified the additional deputy
commissioner (ADC) of Longkhim regarding the planned closures via a letter
submitted on Saturday.

educational institutions and business establishments within Longkhim
sub-division have been directed to cease operations from 6 am to 6 pm on the
