Urban Development named nodal department for Manual Scavengers Act

DIMAPUR — The Urban Development department has been re-designated as the nodal department for all matters relating to the implementation of the Prohibition of Employment as Manual Scavengers and their Rehabilitation Act, 2013.

This includes all activities concerning safai karamcharis or sanitary and insanitary workers, according to a DIPR report.

The report informed that all correspondence relating to it is to be addressed to the Commissioner and Secretary, Urban Development department, Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima 797004.
