DIMAPUR — Marking a new chapter in transportation and connectivity for the people of Kiphire, the launch event of UraCab Kiphire branch was held on Tuesday at Medical Ward in Kiphire town with Atouzo Metha, assistant fleet manager, as the chairperson.
The programme began with an invocation prayer said by Nancy Sangtam, associate secretary of Christian Education, USBLA Sub-Centre.
In his welcome address, Keneilezo Rutsa, general manager of UraCab, shared that UraCab has registered more than 200+ drivers, 4000+ users and completed more than 1500+ rides and counting. He mentioned that UraCab started its journey in November 2022, which was formally inaugurated by Nagaland chief minister.
The additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of Kiphire, Longdiba L Sangtam, who launched UraCab Kiphire branch, noted that introduction of an online taxi service was a great step forward for Kiphire. Despite the challenges in road connectivity, he expressed confidence that the service would benefit both locals and visitors traveling to Kiphire.

He encouraged the UraCab Kiphire team, especially its manager Longtili C Sangtam to remain committed and not give up easily. He also mentioned that the administration is always ready to support innovative and entrepreneurial ventures, emphasising that success would come only through hard work and consistency.
Delivering the closing remarks, Longtili C Sangtam, manager of UraCab Kiphire, expressed his gratitude to the ADC of Kiphire, associate secretary of Children Education USBLA Sub-center Kiphire, executive chairman of USSC, local taxi union, Kiphire unit of All Nagaland Taxi Association Kiphire Unit, Two-wheeler Taxi Association of Kiphire, chairman of medical ward and the UraCab team for their support in making the programme a success.
He added that the launch would not only improve travel facilities but also boost the local economy and promote tourism in Kiphire.
