Ura Academy set to celebrate platinum jubilee

Ura Academy is all set to celebrate its 75 years jubilee (1939-2014) on May 29 and 30 at NBCC Convention Centre, Kohima, where State Governor, Dr. Ashwani Kumar, would grace the occasion as the chief guest, while the president of Tenyimi People’s Organisation (TPO) would be the guest of honour. Prof. A Lanunungsang, Pro- Vice Chancellor of Nagaland University and Chairman of Ao Literature Board, would inaugurate the exhibition as the special guest.
The two-day celebration is also set in the form of cultural and literary exhibition, where 25 cultural groups from 8 different tribes would participate in the cultural programme on May 29 from 1to 3 p.m. Tenyidie videos like Sopfünuo, Khrieü, etc. would also be screened simultaneously. All Tenyimia ministers and MLA(s) from Manipur and Nagaland are expected to attend the celebration. Renowned Tenyimia singers like Methaneilie, Nise Meruno, Menguseü, Tetseo Sisters, etc. would perform during the occasion.
The jubilee grand celebration would begin on May 29 afternoon at 4 p.m. by unveiling the monolith at the Institute of World Languages (IWL) by Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu, President of Ura Academy, which would be followed by the inaugural session at NBCC Convention Centre.
The president of Ura Academy, convener of Organizing Committee, Ura Academy Board of Directors have invited all Tenyimia tribal leaders, leaders of various organisations, and all its members to attend the jubilee celebration. Transportation would provided for the general convenience.
In view of the celebration, members of all the 23 sub committee(s) and other volunteers are requested to join in the mass social-work at the convention venue scheduled on May 27.
