DIMAPUR — Kevileno Angami, Commissioner and Secretary of School Education, inaugurated the upgraded Government High School, Forest Colony, Kohima, on Wednesday.

In her address as a special guest, she congratulated all stakeholders and officials involved in the school’s transition from middle to high school.

She said that the state government currently has 1,932 government schools with the goal of providing quality services and education, but that this has not been achieved as expected due to a variety of factors.

Claiming that wherever there is community pro-active participation, government schools tend to perform equally as private schools, she urged the community to take ownership and encourage teachers to be dedicated to improving the education system.

She said that the community contribution to the school at Forest Colony, both in cash and in kind, has motivated and inspired the vicinities, and she expressed gratitude to all for transforming the school into a high school to serve the needs of the people.
