Update: Deceased gas agency worker had pre-existing ailments

Dimapur, July 26 (EMN): Zinyu Gas Agency at Churches Colony in Dimapur was sealed on July 25 after one of its employees, who passed away, tested positive for Covid-19 through TrueNat.

The result of the confirmatory RT-PCR is still awaited.

According to a source, the deceased person, an elderly man, did not turn up to work for about 10 days as he was not feeling well.

The source added that he had pre-existing ailments in the form of asthma and kidney-related problems.

He reportedly passed away at around 4-5 am on July 25 morning and cremated on the same evening at Samshan ghat near the railway station in Dimapur.

Another source informed that the family members had tried to admit him at many hospitals in the city but none were willing to accept him. It added that he was finally taken to the district hospital Dimapur but was rejected there too as it’s a Covid-19 hospital now.
