DIMAPUR — Unity College, Dimapur, celebrated the college’s 7th cultural day on the theme ‘Tapestry of tradition: celebrating our diversity’ at the college premises on Tuesday.
According to a press release, on the occasion, the principal of the college, Dr. Lichumo Enie, emphasised the importance of knowing where they came from while, at the same time, not becoming fanatics.
The programme featured Lotha (Roa Lan Taro), Chakhesang (Zowe Kileu Eyimi), Nepali (Resam Firiri), Sangtam (IH Shangrüti), and Angami (Lita) songs.
It also included a Sumi folk dance ‘Hanglo’, as well as Bengali (Ailo Uma Bariteh) and Nepali (Dhamphu ma Selo) dances, and a Pochury epic folk narration from Leruri village ‘Ayowsü’ (Wolf Cub).
