DIMAPUR — The United Sangtam Students' Conference (USSC) held a meeting with the principal director of School Education, Shashank Pratap Singh, in Kohima on August 8 to deliberate on pressing issues affecting schools under USSC jurisdiction.
The USSC raised the concern of classroom shortages at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Kiphire, where the existing facilities are insufficient to accommodate all students.
In response, the principal director assured his full support and said he would personally take up the matter under Samagra Shiksha.
The conference also brought attention to the lack of an Education teacher at GHSS Lonkhim. In response, Singh director assured that the issue would be resolved during the forthcoming teacher rationalisation process, which is slated to take place soon.

Further, the USSC pointed out the poor state of infrastructure at Yangpi Government High School, Kiphire, citing issues such as improper drainage and a road cutting through the school grounds, which hampers student activity.
When the USSC reminded that the issue had been raised before, the principal director assured that the department would take the necessary steps at the earliest.
