United Engineer’s, Rooster Club, Southern ASU move to pre-quarters

United Engineer’s Club, Rooster Club Phesama and Southern Angami Students’ Union (SASU) marked win today to book berth in the pre-quarters of the ongoing NSF martyrs’ memorial trophy played at Kohima local ground.In the first match of the day, United Engineer’s club (UEC) defeated Alpine FC by 3-1.
Machipeung Thou of UEC gave his team the lead within a record minute. But, Alpine also didn’t lack much as they also quickly returned the score Peteneizo in the 8th minute to end the first half in 1-1 draw.
After the lemon break, it was United Engineer’s taking the strike and scoring two more goals through Ngullen Singson and Nzanthang in the 58th and 70th minutes of play.
Rooster Club Phesama defeated Southern Naga Club by 3-1 in the second match of the day. It was Rooster Club opening the account through by Chede Mejura in 25th minute supported by goals by Khriesito Chuse’s just before the lemon break.
Nonetheless, return to the second half too, it was Khriesito scoring the third lead for the team and his second in the 49th minute.
Visitors Southern Naga Club managed to minimize the margin by a goal through Pouphulung in the 59th minute but failed to score any further and had to fold their beddings home.
Playing the last match of the day, Southern ASU thrashed Hoodwink FC by 6-0.
Ngulie not only managed to open the flood gates in the 28th but also netted the second lead in the dying moments of the first half. In the second half, Thejanguzo scored two goals – third and sixth in the 45th and 66th minute, while Pelevito and Neitho-o scored the fourth and fifth goals in the 47th and 53rd minute of play.
