Union MoS reviews central projects in Manipur’s Chandel

Imphal, June 8 (EMN): Union Minister of State for Power and Heavy Industries, Krishnan Pal Gurjar, who arrived today, attended a review meeting of various central developmental projects and schemes being implemented in Manipur’s Chandel district.
The union minister said the Central government had identified around 144 most underdeveloped districts in the country with the objective of bringing development in underdeveloped areas of the country including Chandel.
In all of these districts, special emphasis has been given for the proper implementation of all the developmental projects and schemes in all sectors like health, education, sports, infrastructure, electricity, drinking water etc. so that these areas are at par with the other developed districts, he informed.
He expressed happiness that the district administration of Chandel had done a good job and is working towards achieving the targets set by the Central government and added that a lot more is left to be done in the district and the central government is ready to provide all the necessary resources.
During the meeting, the minister inquired about the status of the implementation of various schemes like Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY, availability of medicines etc. Emphasising on the need of skill development for the youths, he also asked for five most important issues which needed to be taken care of.
Different district-level officers also interacted with the visiting union minister during the day’s meeting.
As part of his visit, the minister also interacted with different Self-Help Groups of the district.
