Union minister visits ‘Aspirational District’ Kiphire in Nagaland
Dimapur, Oct. 21 (EMN): Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Parshottam Rupala, on Friday visited Kiphire to review and assess various development projects and schemes implemented under “Aspirational District” programme.
Accompanied by Advisor, Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Evaluation Economics and Statistics, L Khumo, and other central and state officials, the minister interacted with the Heads of Offices and stakeholders of various departments at DC’s Conference Hall, Kiphire, according to an update from DIPR.
Kiphire Deputy Commissioner, T Wati Aier apprised the union minister that the district is currently ranked 9th in the Delta Ranking of the Aspiration Districts.
Maintaining that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had selected Kiphire as “Aspirational District, Rupala said he had come witness and review the scheme.
He said that the aim is to focus on the strength of each district to grow together with all the developmental aspects. He then urged the departments to work harder so that more people are benefited and requested the Fishery officer to provide assistance to the beneficiaries.
The union minister was also apprised of the challenges and difficulties faced by the people of district due to bad road connectivity.
Departmental presentation was delivered by the District Fishery Officer and Chief Veterinary Officer, wherein they highlighted about the activities and how the beneficiaries are getting assistance from the various schemes.
