Dimapur, Aug. 27 (EMN): The Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, Renuka Singh, on Thursday reviewed the progress of the ongoing projects that were sanctioned by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs to Nagaland state.
The review meeting, which was held at Hotel Japfü in Kohima was chaired by Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha and attended by several senior officers, informed an update from the state’s Tribal Affairs department.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=6]It informed that projects sanctioned under Article 275 (1) of the Constitution of India, Special Central Assistance to Tribal Sub-Scheme, Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) and Tribal Research Institute (TRI) were reviewed.
The Union Minister was apprised about the creation of the department of Tribal Affairs by the state cabinet on August 5, 2019 and the activities carried out by it as well as the Department of Under Developed Areas (Duda).
The update went on to inform that Singh also met Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and some of Cabinet members and advisor at his official residence in Kohima.
