
IMPHAL: Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Kaushal Kishore on Wednesday chaired a review meeting of various central schemes taken up in Manipur including the Imphal smart city and PM’s housing for all scheme.
The meeting, which was held at the City Convention Centre in Imphal, was attended by state's Municipal Administration Housing and Urban Development minister Yumnam Khemchand, Commissioner (MAHUD) M Joy and Chief Town Planner (in-charge)N Benju and other officials.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]Earlier in the morning, Kaushal Kishore also had a discussion on the implementation of the government schemes and projects with the state Chief Minister N Biren Singh at the latter’s secretariat in Imphal.
Sharing the photographs of the discussion at CM’s secretariat in Imphal in a tweet, Biren Singh wrote, “It was a pleasure to have Shri @mp_kaushal ji Hon'ble Union MoS for Housing & Urban affairs at my official residence.Deliberated on the implementation schemes & projects for growth & expansion as well as the achievements made in the state under Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji.”
On the first day of his visit in the state on Tuesday, Kaushal had attended a review meeting at the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner Thoubal district, located about 25 km south of Imphal.
Deputy Commissioner A Subhash Singh of Thoubal district, SP Jogeshchandra Haobijam of Thoubal district, ADM B Lokeshor Sharma and other District Level Officers(DLO) attended the review meeting chaired by the visiting minister.
In the meeting, the DLOs of various departments apprised the minister about various centrally sponsored schemes taken up by the departments.
The Union minister advised the DLOs to increase field visits for better monitoring and implementation of schemes. He further stated that all schemes should reach its optimum saturation to reach the 100% target.
On the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, the Union minister instructed officials to adopt an aggressive awareness programme. He suggested that during the morning prayer programmes in schools, messages regarding prevention of drug and substance abuse can be included.
The Minister said each and every individual has an important role to play in nation building. He advised all the officials to perform their duties diligently towards nation building process to achieve the dream of a developed nation by 2047 envisaged under the leadership of the Prime Minister.
