Union minister inspects central projects in Peren

DIMAPUR — The union minister of state for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Balyan, on September 16 inspected central flagship programmes in Peren and held a meeting with the district officials in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s office.

During the meeting, Dr. Balyan launched the video on women and child health under BBBP Peren district. The minister was accompanied by the director of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources and director of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences, stated a DIPR report.

It stated that powerpoint presentations on departmental activities were made by the chief veterinary officer, district fishery officer, district agriculture officer and district horticulture officer.

During interaction with the heads of agriculture and allied departments, the minister appreciated the informative powerpoint presentation from the various departments. He also took a detailed note of the activities and programmes implemented in the district and further urged the concerned department to address to him in case of any problems or requirements related to the departments.

Earlier, the deputy commissioner of Peren, Vineet Kumar, welcomed the minister and presented a brief overview of the district.

Report stated that Dr. Balyan visited Huriangbo Kaurinta fish farm and the College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry in Jalukie town.
