Union Minister Gohain takes part in NF Railway’s Swachhta Hi Sewa Campaign

Dimapur, Sep.24 (EMN): The Union Minister of State for Railways, Rajen Gohain took part in a Shramdaan (physical participation) programme at Guwahati railway station on Sun.Sep.24, 2017. The Minister, accompanied by senior N. F. Railway officials including the General Manager Chahatey Ram, undertook cleaning of station premises as part of the nationwide Swachhata hi Sewa programme launched on Sep.15, 2017 wherein Gohain stated that Indian Railway has taken Swachhata as a mission, and every effort is being made towards achieving that goal. This was informed in a press note by the NF Railway Chief Public Relations Officer, Pranav Jyoti Sharma.
In N. F. Railway, a massive cleanliness drive over all the five divisions began on Sep.15 with NF Railway General Manager Chahatey Ram along with other senior officers offering ‘Shramdaan’ at Kamakhya Railway station in presence of officers and employees.
It may be mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called upon the nation to begin a campaign, Swachhata Hi Sewa (Cleanliness is Service) from Sep.15, 2017 to Oct.2, 2017.
During his Mann Ki Baat address on Aug. 27, 2017, he called upon people to create an environment of cleanliness in the entire country so that the third anniversary of the Swachh Bharat Mission and Gandhi Jayanti which falls on Oct.2 can be celebrated in a befitting manner.
