Union Minister for Tribal Affairs in Nagaland’s Aspirational district Kiphire
Dimapur, April 26 (EMN): Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had set up the Aspirational districts programme to develop the most backward districts in the country for overall progress.
Munda stated this during a meeting at DC’s conference in Kiphire, during his visit to Nagaland’s Aspirational district.
Munda urged district officers to work hard to receive a good rank among the Aspirational districts for development in the district, an update from DIPR stated.
He also highlighted the importance of health and education sectors.
Minister for Soil and Water Conservation and Geology and Mining, V Kashiho Sangtam, meanwhile, shared the grievances faced by the people of Kiphire district and appealed to the Union Minister for more development fund.
Earlier, the Union Minister also visited the ongoing construction of Eklavya Model Residential School and laid the foundation stone for EKRS for Kiphire district.
The project is being funded by Ministry of Tribal Affairs, and implemented by the department of Tribal Affairs, Nagaland. He also visited the ongoing construction site of Industrial Training Institute (ITI), which started in July 2020 and is expected to be completed by 2022.
During the meeting, power point presentations were given by executive engineer, PWD (R&B), district welfare officer, executive engineer, PHED, chief medical officer, executive engineer, water resources, project director, DRDA, district agriculture officer, district sericulture officer and district administration.
The update informed that the DEF, Kiphire displayed guard of honour to the Union Minister on his arrival and was received by the district administration; tribal hohos of Sangtam, Tikhir and Sumi tribes; government officials; DBs; GBs; and BJP party workers at helipad ground in Kiphire.
