Union minister e-inaugurates NSTI, extension centre in Manipur

Imphal, July 15 (EMN): Union Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey e-inaugurated the National Skill Training Institute (NSTI), Extension Centre, Manipur, at the campus of Government ITI, Takyel through a video conference during the Digital Conclave held on Wednesday on the occasion of the World Youth Skills Day and the fifth anniversary of ‘Skill India’ mission.

The event was organised by the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India.

The NSTI, Extension Centre, Manipur, at the campus of Government ITI, Takyel will facilitate training of trainers in the Crafts Instructor Training Scheme (CITS) trades of  motor mechanic vehicle, carpentry and electrician initially by making  use of existing infrastructure and equipment in the ITI for the benefit of ITI passed outs in the Northeast region.

During the digital conclave, Dr. Th Radheshyam expressed profound gratitude to Dr. Mahendranath Pandey, for his consent to set up a new NSTI in a land measuring about 12 acres at Heirok village, Wangjing Tentha CD Block, Thoubal District which is a part of an educational and skill hub identified by the governement of Manipur, wherein construction of a residential senior secondary school and an Engineering College under Rashtriya Uchhatar Siksha Abhiyan of MHRD, GOI, is under progress. New NSTI meets future demand to the existing 21768 CITS trained instructors of 17683 and 4085 in both engineering and non engineering trades respectively in the North Eastern region of seven states (Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura).
