Union Agriculture minister assures assistance to Nagaland
DIMAPUR — In a fillip to the agriculture sector in Nagaland, the union minister of Agriculture, Narendra Singh Tomar, has assured all possible assistance in order to come at par with other states of the country.
Tomar made this assurance to the state advisor of Soil and Water Conservation and Public Relations, Imkong L Imchen, who called on him in his office at Krishi Bhawan in New Delhi on Tuesday. Imkong Imchen was accompanied by other officials from Nagaland.
An update from Kuolie Mere, deputy director and senior PRO (IPR), stated that Imchen has appreciated the union minister for the opportunity to meet him and also apprised him on the various department activities in state. Imchen has also appealed to the minister to consider the proposal submitted in the ministry for the interest of the state of Nagaland.
It stated that the department officials have highlighted on the ongoing central scheme being implementing in the state and the new project/ proposal for the current financial year.
Meanwhile, the union minister has welcomed the advisor and his department officials and assured to support the state.
It also stated that Imchen along with the officials of the department met Pankaj Kumar, secretary of Jal Shakti Mission, at Jal Shakti Bhawan in New Delhi and discussed some issues relating to new proposals submitted in the ministry.
It stated that the state delegation has requested the secretary to look into department’s proposal. The department officials have further also highlighted the ongoing projects work in the state.
The update stated that AS Goel, commissioner (SPR), and Atul Jain, commissioner (FM) from the Ministry and Soil and Water Conservation Department, were present in the meeting.
