Uniformed personnel sensitised on Covid vaccine in Kiphire

Dimapur, Feb. 18 (EMN): Medical department in Kiphire district conducted a sensitisation programmes on Covid-19 vaccination for D Coy IRB and 14th IRB headquarters on February 18.

The first sensitisation programme was conducted at D Coy IRB station, New Reserve in Kiphire town, with Dr. Moangangba Jamir, senior dental surgeon of District Hospital Kiphire, as the resource person, an update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Kiphire stated.

Speaking on the importance of Covid-19 vaccine, the doctor stated that Covishield is safe and found to be effective. He appealed the gathering to do away with unfounded rumours about the vaccine and come forward to receive the vaccine.

The programme concluded with a question session, during which the doctor clarified the questions and doubts raised by the personnel.

The second sensitisation programme was held at District Hospital Kiphire’s conference hall, with Dr. Pewezo Khalo, DPO (RCH/UIP), and Mongkoyanchu Chang, commandant of 14th NAP (IR) battalion, as the resource persons.

Speaking at the programme, Dr. Pewezo Khalo stated that Covid-19 vaccine has been scientifically proven safe and effective and urged the public to avail the opportunity.

Meanwhile, Mongkoyanchu Chang encouraged the uniformed personnel to get vaccinated for their safety and their community. He mentioned that taking the vaccine was the safest way to protect them from the disease.
