KOHIMA, OCTOBER 10: Underdogs P Vizheto FC, Niuland advanced to the third round of the ongoing NSF Martyrs Memorial Trophy with their victory over Addax FC 2-0 here at Kohima local ground.
Debutants P Vizheto FC, who had a convincing 5-0 victory against Tsosinyu Students’ Union in the first round, has once again shown the spectators that they could be one of the teams to watch out for as the tournament progress further.
Going by its reputation, Addax FC is a team which cannot be underrated, but their opponents, with a formidable line up, outclassed them to emerge winners.
Lalrintluanga, who scored hat-trick in the first match against TSU, opened the account for P Vizheto FC in the 49th minute when his header went passed the keeper. The first half remained goalless though both the teams had their share of scoring opportunities.
The second half entirely belonged to P Vizheto FC as they went on to double the lead in the 63rd minute through Poulin. The Niuland team will next play Chedema FC in pre-quarters on October 15.dsc_2717-copy

In the second half, Phileo FC fought back determinedly to stay in the game, but their spirit was dampened as Mengubio netted the second goal for Naga Hospital Colony in the 55th minute.
In the second match, Tragopan Club, Viswema downed Gariphema Village Youth Organisation 4-1 to advance to the third round.
The Viswema team took the match in control from the first whistle. Tali Akum gave them an early lead when he scored in the 5th minute.
Kethozhapu doubled the lead for Tragopan Club in the 17th minute. Two minutes later, it was all over for GVYO as Kethozhapu netted the third goal in the 19th minute to end the interval.
The effort of GVYO to fight back was paid when Thsepithro’s touch went past the Tragopan’s keeper in the 44th minute. However, Thsepithro’s goal remained just as consolation for GVYO as Tali Akum scored again for Tragopan Club in the 57th minute to make it 4-1.
