UNC lifts blockade

The United Naga Council (UNC) has lifted the ongoing economic blockade from 4 pm of November 5. The UNC has also lifted the ban on the construction of national and international projects including Trans-Asian Railways simultaneously.
This situation came following the ‘UNC emergency presidential council meeting’ held today at its office with Gaidon Kamei, president, UNC in the chair from 10 am.
According to the UNC, the meeting after reviewing the decision of the presidential council meeting of the October 29, 2015 and in reciprocal gesture to the “positive steps” and measures taken up by the government of India to protect the land, culture, history, identity, time honored traditional institutions etc. of the Naga people and tribal, “this emergency presidential council meeting decided to temporarily lift/suspend” the ongoing economic blockade on all national highways and ban on the construction of national and international projects including Trans-Asian Railways.
