Kohima, Oct. 10 (EMN): Upper Naga bazaar Baptist Church (UNBC), Kohima, celebrated its silver jubilee in its church premises on Sunday on the theme “Jehovah has been mindful of us” (Psalm 115:12).
Rev. Dr. V Atsi Dolie, executive director of Angami Baptist Church Council (ABCC), while speaking on the occasion, made various references from the Scripture and reminded believers to ‘praise God and to put the name of Almighty on high while one is alive’. Reminding that God doesn’t forget His creations, the speaker encouraged the gathering to be bold enough to move ahead in life as “God will always be our help and our shield”.
In his greetings, Dr. Kevichalie Metha, president of Kohima Baptist Church Council (KBCC), urged the UNBC members to ‘preach the gospel more than before as the church rejoices in their silver jubilee celebration’.
Saying that it was through Christ that they had built the church, he also reminded that ‘prayers should be their stronghold’.
While delivering the vote of thanks, UNBC pastor Ruokuowhelie PienyĆ¼ acknowledged that ‘God has blessed them abundantly in preaching, prayers and every spheres of life.’ He further sought prayer support in order to carry forward its mission.
Members from the youth, men and women fellowship presented songs on the occasion, while Duosielie Chadi, deacon of UNBC, gave a brief history on the formation of the church during the programme.
Neithonuo Huozha, UNBC associate pastor, and the deaconess Nourheneinuo Nakhro read the scripture.
