UGC extends online application for scholarships

Dimapur, Nov. 1 (EMN): The University Grants Commission (UGC) has extended the online application for scholarships for the academic year 2020- 2021 to November 30.

Earlier, the UGC, Ministry of Education, Government of India has invited fresh applications (including renewals) from regular and full time students under Indira Gandhi PG Scholarship for Single Girl Child , PG Scholarship for University Rank Holder candidate, Ishan Uday Special scheme for North Eastern Region, and PG Scholarship for Professional Courses for SC/ST candidates.

The students who are eligible and have been admitted in the recognised institutions, as per the guidelines, may submit their applications through national scholarship portal on its website (https:// scholarships.gov.in/).

The portal has been opened since September 1 and will be opened for receiving applications for fresh as well as renewals as per the following timelines. Closing date for filing online applications by November 30 and closing date for verification of applications by Institutions of students including re-submission of defective applications by December 15, an update from DIPR informed.

Secretary of UGC Prof. Rajnish Jain has directed all the students to submit their online applications on time so that their institutions will be able to verify applications immediately after receiving the applications on portal.
