UGC cautions students

Dimapur, Feb. 2 (EMN): The University Grants Commission (UGC) under the ministry of Education, government of India, has notified students and stakeholders regarding courses offered by Singhania University in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, in modern medicine without the prior approval of National Medical Commission (NMC), the erstwhile Medical Council of India (MCI).

Stating that Singhania University was running courses in modern medicine without prior permission of the central government/ board of governors in superseding MCI/ NMC, UGC informed that the passed out students of such unrecognised degree cannot register for practice.

The UGC secretary, Prof. Rajnish Jain, has warned and informed all the students and parents not to get admission in MBBS, MD, Diploma in Medicine etc. programmes run illegally by the Singhania University.
