United Cricket Club (UCC) defeated Jolly Roger by 8 wickets and Etsutchukha Youth League (EYL) defeated Mohamadan Sporting Club (MSC) by 31 runs to enter the quarter finals of the 19th edition of Winter Cricket Challenge organised by Senior Noble Klan, played at Cherry Town In the first match, UCC won the toss and electing to bat set up a target of 120 runs with an opening partnership of 66 runs by Tumben Ngullie 36 runs and Avungo 33 runs. Nzanthung of Jolly Roger claimed 4 wickets.
UCC reached the target in the 17th over of the inning with the help of man of the match Hemari Teron who was unbeaten on 66 runs. The other run getters included Sarim 21 runs and Sumit 19 runs. Avungo and Yanbemo claimed wicket a piece.
In the second match one time champion EYL won the toss and opting to bat first set up a huge target of 166 runs for 3 wickets, with tsenpon hitting 90 runs of just 56 deliveries. He was accompanied by Limhathung 24 runs and James 10 runs. Azar Ali, Angshu and Shannawaj Ahmed claimed one wicket each.
Chasing the target the opening pair of MSC made a record opening partnership of 94 runs with Sandeep Paul 57 runs and Angshu 32 runs. The solid opening pair could not help the MSC in reaching as they played out the inning on 134 runs a 32 runs short of the victory target. James claimed 3 wickets and Khombemo and and Mhachamo claimed 2 wickets each.
