Dimapur, May 9 (EMN): Citing inconveniences caused to the public of surrounding villages, Tenyimi Youth Organisation Dimapur (TYOD) has urged the deputy commissioner of Dimapur to revoke the standing order on closure of the national highway from Patkai Bridge to Kukidolong.

Besides, it stated that blocking of highway due to landslide from time to time has not only brought untold misery to the commuter but also economically affect the public.

A TYOD representation appended by its president Thejangulie Kire also reminded that imposition of curfew at night and the half-day shutter down due to Covid 19 has contributed to factor causing inconveniences to the public in general and the surrounding villages in particular.

Citing instances, it stated that residents of surrounding villages needing emergency medical attention were left to their fate due to such road block on several occasions. It added that the government run CHC and PHC are poorly equipped except to administer first aid to ease pain.

In the light of the above stated circumstances, TYOD has requested the deputy commissioner of Dimapur to look into the genuine problem and revoke the order for closure of the National Highway on humanitarian ground.
