Police personnel of south police station of Kohima town have seized an assortment of liquor from a vehicle, a Mahindra Scorpio (NL01 C-8756, Engine No. BF34E38329, Chassis No. MA1TA2BFC32E80572) from the box-cutting area in Midland of Kohima on February 12.
50 cases of IMFL were recovered from the vehicle. The police informed in a press release on Thursday that the driver of the vehicle, one Sanjay Thapa (21 years), of Old Ministers’ Hill in Kohima was arrested.“The records of the seized vehicle was verified from the Database of Motor Vehicle Co-ordination System maintained by the NCRB New Delhi and is suspected to be involved in connection with Lajpat Nagar/South –East/Delhi case No. 0272/2014,” the police informed.
Also, the Kohima District Excise personnel have arrested one Vinokha Sema of Zunheboto district from National Highway 61, Tsiesema road, on February 10 for possession of beer. He was arrested at around 10:30 am. In his possession were 168 bottles of canned beer and 84 bottles of rum, the Excise personnel informed on Thursday in a press release.
