Two schools through to pre-quarter round

Kohima, July 4 (EMN): St. Mary’s Cathedral Higher Secondary School and Christ King Higher Secondary School, Kohima entered pre-quarter round after thrashing their opponents on the last day of preliminary round of the ongoing 3rd Kohima District Inter-School Football Tournament at IG Stadium on July 4.
In a record-breaking performance of the tournament, Tepevil netted five goals for St. Mary’s Cathedral Higher Secondary School during the match against Baptist Higher Secondary School Tseminyu, which ended 5-0. Tepevil’s goals in the third, 31st, 33rd, 42nd, and 61st minute of the game ensured for St. Mary’s Cathedral Higher Secondary School a place in the next round.
In the second match, Christ King Higher Secondary School, Kohima beat Loyola Higher Secondary School, Jakhama 3-1. All the three goals for Christ King Higher Secondary School, Kohima came from Hreli Albert; he became the sixth player to score a hat-trick in the tournament.
Meanwhile, the lone goal for Loyola Higher Secondary School, Jakhama came from the boot of Seyielezo Pfüsenuo in the 14th minute.
Altogether, 18 schools have made it to pre-quarter round, which will start today, July 5.
