Dimapur, Aug. 15 (EMN): Two persons, who are in custody at Diphupar police station in Dimapur, tested positive for Covid-19 on TrueNat on August 13 but their RT-PCR test results are still awaited. This was confirmed by the officer in-charge (OC) of the station.
The OC told Eastern Mirror that the two persons, who were arrested on the night of August 12, were tested positive for Covid-19 through TrueNat the next day. He informed that all police personnel who came into contact with the accused persons have been kept in isolation.
"The police personnel are not positive as reported in (sections of) the media; we are awaiting the RT-PCR results of the accused as of now," the OC informed, adding that after the RT-PCR results are out, the police personnel will be tested again.
Meanwhile, the public relations officer (PRO) of the Dimapur Police informed that the sealing of East police station has been lifted and all police personnel are back on duty after the RT-PCR test result of a person in police custody returned negative on Saturday.
The East police station was earlier sealed off after an accused person was reportedly tested positive for Covid-19 through TrueNat.
